Our Services

The Welcome Centre provides support to newly arrived refugees and immigrants, providing programs to assist with integration and resettlement in Calgary. The Welcome Centre is unique in that all staff and volunteers are bilingual, culturally sensitive and respectful.

Our all inclusive services welcome families from all cultural backgrounds and are free of charge.

We offer the following services:

ESL Classes

Open to all newcomers, The Welcome Centre provides ESL classes on a daily basis. We are currently offering ESL level 1, 2 and 3 courses.

Organizations are also invited to give presentations on life in Canada, workplace expectations, positive parenting, employment, the laws in Canada, community engagement and volunteer opportunities.

ESL Summer Classes start on June 13.

Newly Arrived Family Orientations

Our orientation for newly arrived families provides newcomers with information on their new journey in Canada including how to access resources throughout the city, explore volunteer opportunities, financial information, employment support and housing, access to health services, government services and connecting to the community.

Personalized Referral Program

For all families seeking support, the Welcome Centre provides a personalized referral program. We learn and assess the needs of newly arrived families and then refer them to different agencies throughout the city. The Welcome Centre follows up with every family to ensure that their needs are met and supported.

Community Welcome Events

The Welcome Centre hosts different events for new Canadians including youth, women and seniors. These events help guests connect with the widespread community by creating a collaborative space between newcomers, service providers, neighbours, government services and the larger community.

Summer Camps

The Welcome Centre offers summer camps for children and youth. Please contact us for more information regarding the summer camps we are providing this year and if you would like to sign up your children.
